2. STANDARD-BASED QUESTIONS: For each passage, there are open-ended questions that are aligned and cover ALL 5th Grade Reading Literature & Informational Standards. It encourages critical thinking and text evidence.

3. COMPARE AND CONTRAST: For each of the paired passages, there are questions that require students to analyze both passages and provide TEXT EVIDENCE.

4. WRITING PROMPT: For each set of passages, there is a writing prompt that is related to the topic. You will find narrative writing, opinion writing, informative writing, and text analysis writing. In addition, the following is included.
