There are four sections.
- Addition
- Subtraction
- Multiplication
- Division
How many word problems are there for each section? 10 word problems per section.
How are the word problems set up?
The word problems were developed with a scaffolding method. It starts off with easy problems. The higher the number, the more difficult the problem.
What are the children expected to do for each word problem?
READ: Read through the word problem. Highlight key words and numbers.
NOTES: Use this space to figure out the answer.
ILLUSTRATE: Illustrate either figuring out the answer or the answer.
EXPLAIN: Explain how you got the answer. Write down each step.
ANSWER: Write the answer. Include the number and what it is. Example: 450 popsicles.
